Gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and brother Ashraf shot dead by attackers posing as journalists, killers identified by police

Atiq Ahmed: Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, called a meeting on Saturday with senior UP Police officials, including the director general of police (DGP) and additional director general of police (ADGP), after gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were murdered in Prayagraj. Police have named the three attackers as Lovlesh, Sunny, and Arun Maurya. They approached Ahmed and his brother Ashraf in Prayagraj while pretending to be journalists and shot them both at close range.

The gathering is happening at CM Yogi’s home in Lucknow. The chief minister is unhappy by Atiq and Ashraf’s murders in the midst of strict police security, according to sources. The chief minister was told about the event by GDP RK Vishwakarma. The formation of a three-person judicial commission to look into the situation was ordered by the chief minister. Speaking to reporters, Prayagraj Police disclosed that early information indicates that the three pretended to be journalists before shooting Atiq Ahmad and his brother Ashraf.

Atiq and Ashraf were shot by three individuals

Around 10 o’clock in the evening, Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf were killed, and the incident was caught on tape as reporters followed the handcuffed pair as they were being moved to the hospital by police for a medical examination. Atiq and Ashraf were shot by three individuals who fled after doing so and were later captured. According to police, Atiq and Ashraf’s bullet-riddled bodies were removed from the scene since the region was tense following the shocking murder.
