Ghaziabad News: Municipal Corporation to launch ‘Smart Transfer Station’ for a garbage free city; will it be a game changer?

Ghaziabad News: The city will soon become garbage free and will get rid of air pollution if the idea of the smart transfer stations work out well. The Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation is planning to introduce ‘Smart transfer Stations’ in the city. With the help of this initiative the Municipal Corporation looks forward to deliver clean and garbage free environment to the residents. Some of the Smart Stations are already built in Vijay Nagar, Mohan Nagar and Vasundhara zone.  The Municipal Commissioner took stock of the under construction smart station in the Kavi Nagar area. Construction work of the smart stations in five zones is currently underway and will be ready soon. Machines with all latest techniques are being used in the Smart Stations in Govindpuram, Madhuban and Bapudham in kavinagar.

How will Smart Transfer Stations Help?

These Stations help in reducing traffic at the dumping ground since less vehicles will go the dumping site which will automatically lead to less Air Pollution. It will also help in saving fuel as less vehicles will be used to carry garbage. The move will also help in creating awareness among people about Proper Waste Management Techniques.

What is a Smart Transfer Station?

Smart Transfer station is like a spot where all garbage collected from the city is being dumped. It is also called temporary deposition of waste.

All Waste will be collected in Capsules

The waste collected from the areas will be put up in a capsule and sent to the dumping ground. With the help of this process, there will be no garbage lying in any of the smart stations and the trash will be then reach the processing unit in the form of capsules. The move will help in cleaning the air as there will be no garbage scattered in the ground.

Construction work will begin from 2nd October

GDA will provide land to built the Triple P Model in which transfer station of 150 to 200 TPD ( Tones Per Day) will be made. The construction work will begin from 2nd October. The triple P Model will be operated by a transfer station and the transfer station will be run by secondary collection contractor.
