Ghaziabad News: Vehicle Operations Suspended for Kanwar Yatra, Ensuring Safety Amidst Increased Traffic on Delhi-Meerut Route

Ghaziabad News: The traffic police have begun planning for the Kawand Yatra. The U-turn has now been marked following the issuance of the traffic advice. During the Kanwar Yatra, U-turns would be available at six locations along the Delhi-Meerut route through Modinagar-Muradnagar. Other U-turns will be blocked off with barricades. If the throng grows larger, the police will contemplate expanding the U-turn. At the moment, it has been agreed to have U-turns in Modinagar-Muradnagar at Kadarabad, Raj Chopla, Gangnahar, Ravli Cut, Bus Stand, and Ordnance Factory.

Preparations for Kanwar Yatra in Full Swing

Other U-turns will be closed within a day or two. Raj Chopla’s U-turn in Modinagar will benefit the most people. People travelling to Hapur will be allowed to travel directly. It is also the administrative centre of Modinagar. The majority of individuals will be able to travel freely. However, when the mass of Shiva devotees grows, Delhi Road will be fully closed to automobiles. All vehicles will only travel on Meerut Road. According to the ACP, police preparations for the Kanwar Yatra are moving quickly. It has currently been decided to open six U-turns. Their number might be lowered or expanded depending on the conditions. Police officers will be stationed at all U-turns.

Vehicle Operations Suspended for Kanwar Yatra

The operation of vehicles and e-rickshaws would be suspended from July 11, when the number of Shiva worshippers increases. Because the Meerut road will remain one-way, car and e-rickshaw drivers would be able to stop their vehicles on the road and board the ride. In such a case, an accident with a car approaching from the other side is possible. As a result, they will be shuttered in the final days. Last year, there was barricading in the middle of the Delhi-Meerut route because of the Rapid Rail Corridor’s construction. During the Kanwar Yatra, people would travel to Delhi Road after dark to view the tableau. Nothing was seen from Delhi Road due to the barricades. In such circumstances, Delhi Road used to become more crowded with people. The cops found it difficult to control them. There was a concern about running into a Shiva devotee. But this time, a lot of room has been made in the centre of the Delhi-Meerut route thanks to the dismantling of the barricades. Delhi Road will see a decrease in traffic. The police will feel better.
