Greater Noida News: Foundation stone for the much-awaited Manjhawali bridge road project was laid on December 26. The road project has been designed to provide seamless, direct and hassle-free road connectivity between Greater Noida and Faridabad.

What Makes This Greater Noida News Special?

The Manjhawali bridge road project was previously stalled for decades. Finally, it has seen the ray of light.

The project will be carried out by the Public Works Department (PWD). It is estimated to cost around Rs. 66 crore. Tender for the project has already been awarded. It is estimated by officials that the complete road construction will be done within one year.

The only little challenge is that 30 percent of the land to be acquired is still pending due to fund limitations. The project, which was initially proposed in 1989, saw its foundation stone laid by ex-Union Minister Rajesh Pilot. In 2014, the project was revived with Haryana completing its construction portion. In contrast, Uttar Pradesh failed to complete its share of portion due to land compensation disputes.

Boost To Regional Connectivity

The project plan involves the construction of a new 1.7 kilometer four-lane road that will be characterized by a width of 45 meters. It will cut down the travel time between Greater Noida and Faridabad to existing 90-105 minutes to 25-35 minutes.

Furthermore, it will also help in minimizing traffic congestion on Delhi routes. It is also expected to enhance access to the upcoming Noida International Airport. More than 200 villages across both districts (Faridabad and Greater Noida) will directly benefit from enhanced connectivity.
