Haryana News: Anurag Rastogi, the Chief Secretary of Haryana, has announced that nutrition mission of the state for 2026-27 would be offering daily nutritional support to more than 2.56 lakh lactating and pregnant women and about 9.46 lakh children under the Prime Minister’s Overarching Scheme For Holistic Nourishment (POSHAN) scheme.
Rastogi commented that the nutrition mission is in accordance with the state’s POSHAN Abhiyaan to curb severe malnutrition.

The Haryana Chief Secretary commented that the bolstered Mukhyamantri Dudh Uphaar Yojana that is backed by an impressive outlay of Rs. 170 crore would help in boosting the nutrition efforts of Haryana. The Chief Secretary while chairing the 7th meeting of the State Convergence Committee remarked that stronger data-driven monitoring, interdepartmental convergence and last-mile delivery would help bring significant improvements in child and maternal health.
Haryana’s 2026-27 Roadmap-Is Healthier Haryana Just A Meal Away?
The 2026-27 roadmap of Haryana lays clear emphasis on improving growth monitoring coverage to 99 percent. This would help in minimizing malnutrition in the state to negligible levels while also bolstering supplementary nutrition services. The primary focus areas include improved complementary feeding practices, exclusive breastfeeding and targeted management of acute malnutrition.
The Chief Secretary of Haryana also remarked that the sitting state government is also focusing on intensifying folic acid and iron supplementation among adolescent girls, children and women so that severe and debilitating health conditions such as anaemia could be tackled effectively.
Rastogi also commented that the convergence of the Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH) department would be undertaken for developing Poshan Vatikas for promoting medicinal plant cultivation and organizing a Yoga Day every month to support wellness at Anganwadi Centres.
