Weather Update January 19 2026: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains in the state of Delhi NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan as well as southern states.

Weather Update January 19 2026-Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand

Parts of Western Himalayan Region Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit Baltistan-Muzaffarabad and many regions in Himachal Pradesh are likely to receive fresh bounties of snowfall.

Delhi NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan

The Delhi NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan are likely to receive heavy rainfall in the next 72 hours. Alert has been issued for Rajasthan till January 22. Thick fog may occur throughout the early morning and late evening & night hours.

Panipat, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Patiala, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Karnal, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Sonipat and Kaithal are likely to witness bone-chilling cold waves. Commuters travelling by Yamuna Expressway, Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, Delhi-Dehradun Expressway and Delhi-Meerut Expressway are warned to observe a high sense of care and diligence while maintaining good distance with other vehicles.

West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha

The states of West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Odisha, especially Pantnagar and Udhampur, are likely to witness chilling waves. Bhopal, Jabalpur, Ratlam and Ujjain are likely to experience thick, dense fog.

Sikkim, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam

The north-eastern states of Sikkim, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam are likely to witness mild rainfall. They may experience thick to very thick dense fog in early morning hours.

Southern States, Puducherry and Daman & Diu

Lakshadweep and Andaman are likely to receive heavy rain and thunderstorms that may disrupt the normal lives of residents as well as commuters.
