Weather Update January 24 2026: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning in many parts of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Delhi, Ladakh and Haryana.

Residents of Rajasthan are warned of cloudbursts, lightning, strong thunderstorms and heavy rainfall due to western disturbances. Ghaziabad, Noida, Delhi, Gurugram and Faridabad may receive fresh rainfall, especially during early morning and late evening hours.
Panipat, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Patiala, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Karnal, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Sonipat and Kaithal are likely to face heavy to extreme heavy rainfall. Narayangarh, Panchkula, Guhla, Pehowa, Shahabad, Ambala, Karnal, Indri, Thanesar, Nilokheri, Radaur, Barara, Jagadhri, Kalka and Chhachhrauli are likely to notice fresh rainfall, especially during early morning and late evening hours.

Fatehgarh Sahib, Amloh, Mohali, Rampura Phul, Bassi Pathana, Khanna, Payal, Malerkotla, Samana, Patiala, Nabha, Rajpura, Dera Bassi, Nangal, Hoshiarpur, Baba Bakala, Batala, Bhulath and Anandpur Sahib are likely to witness heavy to extreme heavy rainfall.
Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand
The states of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are likely to witness heavy to extreme heavy snowfall and rainfall that may make transportation challenging for residents and commuters. Parts of Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit Baltistan-Muzaffarabad are also likely to witness day-long snowfall.
West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha
Several regions in Bihar including Vaishali and Kishanganj are likely to receive moderate to heavy rainfall.
Sikkim, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam
The northeastern states of Sikkim, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam are likely to witness thick fog. Some regions may receive light to moderate rainfall.
Southern States, Puducherry and Daman & Diu
Puducherry, Mahe, Karaikal and Tamil Nadu are likely to witness heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. South Interior Karnataka Lakshadweep, Tamil Nadu and Andaman may also witness heavy rain and thunderstorms.
