Innovation Mission Punjab, a unique private-public partnership that aims to build, empower and act as a catalyst for local startup communities in Punjab, held Startup Day at Hotel Sethi Recency, Abohar. IMPunjab aims to assist new startups and entrepreneurs in Punjab by introducing them to the stakeholders in their respective industries and creating opportunities for their startups to grow further.
Punjab encouraging new entrepreneurs
Speaking at the event, Fazilka Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal IAS said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is making a lot of efforts to encourage new entrepreneurs. She said that this event is also being organized under the same motive so that more information can be provided to startups .
The goal of the Startup Day in Abohar was to provide regional access to mentorship for the region’s startup community. The platform also assists with start-up ideation, development, and growth acceleration. Additionally, by connecting with global mentors and advisors at IMPunjab, participants at Startup Day received feedback and validation for their idea, a possible match with the right incubator, and guidance from the entrepreneurial ecosystem. This is also the beginning of their entrepreneurial journey with the Mission.

Talking about the event, Somveer Anand, CEO and Mission Director of IMPunjab said, “Punjab has an innovative and striving population that is solving daily life problems with innovative ideas. We want to create a rich network of investors, industrialists, and founders of the startup communities to engage with these entrepreneurs to help them strive by upscaling their functioning and hence, shaping the future of their businesses.
With more than 1500+ initiatives onboarded at the Mission & Top 16 startups accelerated through our flagsgip program, Startup day is an opportunity for youngpreneurs to begin their entrepreneurial journey with us at Innovation Mission Punjab. The Abohar edition received over 60 registrations from diverse industries, including F&B, Education, Agriculture etc, and had Ms. Anushka Neyol, Founder – ThreeOneFarms inspire a next generation of entrepreneurs through her venture experience.
