Punjab: National Legal Services Authority to make women aware of their rights and provide legal services

A program was organized today at Bhag Singh Khalsa College for Women Abohar as part of a special awareness campaign being conducted by the Punjab State Legal Services Authority with the aim of making women aware of their legal rights.

The event was specially attended by Ms. Santosh Snehi Mann, Member Secretary, National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi.

‘Important to make women aware of their rights’

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Santosh Snehi Mann said that this awareness campaign is an important tool to make women aware of their rights and legal awareness for women empowerment. she said that many efforts are being made by the National Legal Services Authority to make women aware of their rights and to provide legal services to them.

On this occasion, Mr. Arun Gupta, Member Secretary, Punjab State Legal Services Authority also informed about the provisions regarding legal services contained in the Legal Services Authority Act, 1987.

Mrs. Jatinder Kaur, Chairperson, District Legal Services Authority, Fazilka was also specially present on this occasion.
