Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday marked the grand inauguration of the State Shravani Mela 2026, extending a warm welcome to lakhs of Kanwariyas and devotees visiting the sacred shrines of Baba Baidyanath Dham and Baba Basukinath Dham during the holy month of Shravan.

In a message shared through the Office of the Chief Minister, Hemant Soren conveyed his heartfelt greetings and “Johar” to all pilgrims arriving in Jharkhand for the annual pilgrimage. The Chief Minister wished devotees a safe and spiritually fulfilling journey while celebrating the beginning of one of the state’s largest religious events.
Soren Welcomes Devotees to Baba Baidyanath and Basukinath Dham
The State Shravani Mela attracts millions of Shiva devotees every year, who undertake the traditional Kanwar Yatra before offering holy water at Baba Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar and Baba Basukinath Dham in Dumka. The festival is considered one of the most significant religious gatherings in eastern India.
The Jharkhand government has made extensive arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the month-long fair, including enhanced security, medical facilities, sanitation, traffic management, and other essential services for pilgrims.
As devotees chant “Bol Bam” and begin their sacred pilgrimage, the state administration has reiterated its commitment to providing a safe, organized, and comfortable experience throughout Shravani Mela 2026.
