The wait for tourists to see cheetahs on Indian soil is about to end in the new year. The cheetahs brought from Namibia on September 17 and settled in the Kuno National Park in Sheopur will be released in the open forest in February next year.

All the cheetahs have been shifted from small to big enclosure. All 8 cheetahs, of which 3 are male and 5 are female, are not only completely healthy, but have also survived in a better way. This is the reason that under the direction of the Park Management Cheetah Task Force and the Central Government, the preparations in the park are in the final stage for the tourists, along with releasing the cheetahs living in the large enclosure in the open.

Talking to media over phone call, DFO of Kuno National Park, Prakash Kumar Verma said, cheetahs brought from Namibia have been released in a phased manner from a small enclosure to a large enclosure of 500 hectares. All cheetahs are fully fit, and are hunting freely.

Date for releasing the cheetahs from the big enclosure to the open forest is not fixed

The date for releasing the cheetahs from the big enclosure to the open forest is not fixed, because only the task force and the central government will be able to tell anything about it. But in view of the plan to release cheetahs in the open in the month of February, all kinds of preparations are being done. Along with this, arrangements are also being made for the start of tourism. The Tiktoli Gate of Kuno Park, which was closed since last season, will now open for tourists.

According to the park management, even though tourists cannot see the cheetahs yet. But ever since cheetahs have been settled in Kuno National Park, since then the fame of Kuno National Park has increased a lot.

Number of domestic and foreign tourists has also increased

Since September 17, the number of domestic and foreign tourists has also increased and it is expected that when cheetahs will be released in the open forest, Kuno National Park will be the only one in the country where tourists will be able to see cheetahs. That's why the number of tourists can also create new records.
