Kantilal has said this in the petition

According to Vijay Singh, in his petition, Kantilal has said that when the police arrested him on charges of gangrape on December 23, 2020, he was the only bread-earner in his family. He was taking care of his aged mother, wife and 3 children. When he was sent to jail on false charges, his family had to go through starvation.

Case was registered against him on July 20, 2018

According to Vijay Singh, a woman lodged a complaint against Kantilal at the Mansa police station on July 20, 2018. The woman accused Kantilal of raping her. The woman had alleged that after raping her, he handed her over to another man, who kept her captive in an isolated place and raped her for six months. Kantilal was arrested on the basis of this complaint, after which he had to stay in jail for almost 2 years.
