A tragic incident unfolded in Mauganj’s Shahpur area when an altercation between two groups in Gadara village escalated into a violent attack on law enforcement officers. Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Ramcharan Gautam lost his life in retaliatory action, while several other policemen sustained injuries.

According to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, the unfortunate incident occurred when a police team, including the Tehsildar and the Station House Officer (SHO), responded to a dispute between two factions. As tensions flared, the officials came under attack, leading to a confrontation in which ASI Gautam was fatally injured.

Expressing deep sorrow over the loss, CM Yadav extended his condolences to the bereaved family and assured medical aid for the injured officers, who have been shifted to Rewa hospital for treatment.
In response to the violence, Section 144 has been imposed in the region to prevent further unrest. Senior police officials, including DIG Rewa and SP Mauganj, promptly arrived at the scene to restore order. ADG Rewa Zone is also expected to reach the site for further assessment.
Taking a firm stand, CM Yadav has directed the Director General of Police (DGP) to personally oversee the situation and ensure stringent action against those responsible for the attack. He labeled the incident as inhumane and unacceptable, instructing law enforcement to take the strictest measures against all accused individuals involved.
As investigations proceed, authorities have assured that justice will be served and no leniency will be shown toward the perpetrators of this violent attack on law enforcement personnel.
