Rabi sowing figures seem to be giving relief to traders worried about the rise in prices of wheat and flour. Union Ministry of Agriculture has released the survey of sowing of rabi crops in the country till 25th November. According to this, the total sowing of rabi has been done in 358.59 lakh hectare in the country this year. This is 7.2 percent more than the same period last year. The maximum increase in rabi sowing is visible in wheat and mustard. The important thing is that maximum sowing of wheat has been done in Madhya Pradesh.
Wheat has been sown in 152.88 lakh hectare this year
Wheat has been sown in 152.88 lakh hectare this year as against 138.35 lakh hectare during this period last year. That means 10.5 percent area has increased till now. In this too, the maximum area under wheat is in Madhya Pradesh. A total of 6.40 lakh hectares of wheat area has increased in the state this year. Similarly, the total area under mustard has reached 70.89 lakh hectare. Last year it was only 61.56 lakh. Wheat, flour pulses are at the highest level in the market so far this year.
Flour is also expensive because wheat is expensive
According to Flour Mill Director Lokesh Agarwal, the arrival of wheat in the mandis is less. In such a situation, even the flour mills are not getting wheat to meet their requirement. Flour is also expensive because wheat is expensive. In the past, the organization of mills had also demanded the sale of government wheat in the open market from the government. Now the sowing figures have raised hopes that this year the stock of wheat which is at its weakest.
The situation will get better with the new crop. The arrival of new wheat in the mandis will start in March. In such a situation, due to good sowing, now farmers and stockists will extract old wheat. Therefore, now the pressure of the sowing data of the new crop will be seen in the market on the increasing prices of wheat. In such a situation, consumers and flour mills are expected to get some relief.
