Another local resident added, "The police arrived an hour and a half after the incident." Reports suggest that the violent mob first destroyed CCTV cameras, attempting to erase any evidence of their actions. These firsthand accounts of the Nagpur Violence shed light on the level of destruction caused by the rioters.
Speaking to ANI, Nagpur Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Singal stated, "The situation is under control and peaceful in Nagpur. More than 50 people have been taken into custody. We are identifying those who harmed public property. Thirty-three police personnel were injured in the incident. The police did a commendable job. Action will be taken against all those involved. He further said, "Police forces are deployed, and a curfew has been imposed in parts of Nagpur to prevent further unrest. A meeting with relevant stakeholders will be held to ensure such incidents do not occur again."
For the past few days, tensions have been escalating in Maharashtra over demands to remove Aurangzeb’s tomb. The situation became highly sensitive, leading to heavy police deployment outside the tomb. Despite security measures, two groups clashed in Nagpur’s Mahal area last evening. The violence quickly escalated, leading to heavy stone-pelting. Soon after, rioters set vehicles on fire, creating a scene of chaos in the city. Several administrative officers, responsible for maintaining security, sustained injuries during the unrest, with their images now circulating on social media.
As of now, the latest update on Nagpur Violence confirms that the situation is under control. Authorities continue to make all efforts to restore peace in the region.
Hindu organisations like Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal have taken a strong stance regarding Aurangzeb’s tomb. Drawing parallels to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement of the 1990s in Ayodhya, these groups have issued a stern ultimatum. They warned that if the tomb is not removed, they will proceed with a "Kar Seva," hinting at a potential demolition similar to the Babri Masjid case in Ayodhya.

The Nagpur Violence has sparked nationwide discussions on communal tensions in Maharashtra. As investigations continue, law enforcement agencies are focused on restoring peace and ensuring that such incidents do not recur.
