MP News: 19 Nursing Colleges lose Registration over allegations of Scam

MP News: 19 Nursing colleges of Madhya Pradesh lose registration over the allegations of scam. The High Court shifted these 40 cases to the Jabalpur bench. These colleges have faced action due to the forged claims about the number of faculty members. These 6 colleges are in Gwalior. The court was hearing a case related to the fake recognition given to Nursing colleges by the Nursing Council. The Petitioner includes Madhya Pradesh law student association chief, who has claimed that these affiliations are given under Political pressure and these colleges only exist on paper and they are operating under a single room accommodation.

Colleges were running without valid documents

70 colleges were identified during an audit in the year 2021 and 16 of them were opened on the recommendation of Ms Peter. Ms Stella Peter is an inspector who had recommended the recognition of these 46 colleges. She was also a member of a Nursing Council in the year 2020. The Petitioners informed the court that she was being promoted later and was made the Registrar of the nursing council.

Court will take a call on shifting case to the CBI

The Jabalpur court will now decide the next course of action of the case. The court will also take a call on whether the case should be handed over to CBI or not
