Tricoloured Inaugural Ribbon Controversy
Jammu & Kashmir CM recently refused to cut a tricoloured inaugural ribbon that was put in place to mark the official opening of the Handicrafts & Handloom Exhibition. Omar Abdullah asked the organizers to remove the ribbon and keep it safely.
Several social media users applauded Omar Abdullah’s refusal to cut the tricolour ribbon. A user commented, “Appreciate the gesture and how foolish the organizers can be?” Another commented, “True respect for the TRICOLOUR shows when it’s not reduced to just another prop at a political stage. DIGNITY OVER DISPLAY.” A user wrote, “Whoever brought this ribbon of tricolour to cut should be investigated.” Another commented, “The Tricolour is our nation’s pride and must always be treated with dignity. By choosing to untie the Tiranga instead of cutting it, Omar Abdullah set a powerful example. This isn’t politics it’s pure respect for India. Every Indian should feel proud of this gesture.”
