By-elections are going to be held in the Lok Sabha seat of Jalandhar. Congress MP from here, Santokh Singh Chowdhary, died during the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ this year. After this this seat became vacant. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal did a road show in Jalandhar in favor of AAP candidate Sushil Rinku.
During the roadshow, CM Bhagwant Mann said that the people of Jalandhar will break the record of Sangrur by voting for Aam Aadmi Party. CM Mann said that you vote for us, we will make Jalandhar city shine completely. Our government gave employment to the youth. He said that an upgraded hospital like PGI would be built and people would be treated free of cost. There is a sports industry in Jalandhar; we had talked about the Sports University somewhere.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said that ‘Ek saal kaam damdaar’ our government formed, people’s bills started coming to zero in Punjab. People are getting employment, martyrs are getting one crore rupees each. I have come to ask the people of Jalandhar for one year. Give us 11 months, if you don’t like the work then don’t vote. We are big leaders of AAP, we have come to ask for votes from you.
Congress MP died of heart attack
CM Mann said that today I have sent a truck full of rugby balls to Mumbai. The Rugby World Cup is being held in France in November-December. Whose two lakh balls are being made in Jalandhar. World Cup is played with the footballs of Jalandhar. Cricket world cup is played with bat. Jalandhar’s Lok Sabha MP Santokh Singh Choudhary had died earlier this year (in January) due to a heart attack during the party’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’. This seat had become vacant due to the death of the MP and now this by-election is being held on the same seat.
