Bhagwant Mann: Punjab Police has intensified its crackdown on drug trafficking, arresting 126 drug smugglers on Day 409 of the ongoing ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ campaign.
Bhagwant Mann: Major Seizures Across the State
During coordinated raids conducted at multiple locations, police recovered 1.4 kg of heroin, 5.4 kg of opium, 69 kg of poppy husk, 558 intoxicant tablets and capsules, along with ₹4.91 lakh in drug money. Officials said the seizures reflect continued efforts to disrupt illegal drug supply chains.

Statewide Raids and Enforcement
The arrests were made as part of a large-scale operation carried out across Punjab. Authorities emphasised that the campaign being implemented with a strong focus on intelligence-based action and strict law enforcement.
Focus on Rehabilitation
Alongside enforcement, the campaign is also prioritising rehabilitation. Around 25 individuals were persuaded to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment, highlighting a balanced approach to tackling drug abuse.
Nearly 59,000 Arrests So Far
Police data reveals that a total of 58,829 drug smugglers have been arrested during the 409-day-long campaign, underlining the масштаб and consistency of the anti-drug drive.

Officials stated that the strategy includes coordinated raids, monitoring of trafficking routes, and public awareness initiatives to address both supply and demand aspects of the drug problem.
