AAP Punjab media in-charge Baltej Pannu stated that in the past, these grassroots-level elections were openly “looted” by opposition parties, depriving people of their democratic rights. This time, however, candidates from all political parties were able to contest freely, reflecting an improved electoral environment in the state.

Highlighting the role of the Bhagwant Mann-led government

Highlighting the role of the Bhagwant Mann-led government, Pannu said the administration ensured law and order throughout the polling process, allowing elections to conclude smoothly and transparently. He added that the Aam Aadmi Party fought the elections on the basis of its work and governance record rather than money power or intimidation.

“The results will also come on the basis of work,” Pannu asserted, expressing confidence that voters would reward AAP for its performance in governance and development.

The party described the peaceful completion of the elections as a positive step towards strengthening democracy at the grassroots level and restoring public faith in the electoral process in Punjab.

AAP leaders further said that the smooth conduct of the elections reflects the Mann government’s commitment to democratic values and institutional transparency. They claimed that strict monitoring by the administration and police ensured that no candidate or voter was pressured, creating a level playing field for all political parties.

Baltej Pannu also emphasized that these elections marked a shift towards issue-based politics at the local level. He said development works in villages, improvements in basic amenities, and pro-people policies of the state government became the central issues during campaigning. According to him, this change indicates growing political awareness among voters.

AAP Punjab reiterated that empowering local bodies is essential for effective governance, as Zila Parishads and Block Samitis play a crucial role in rural development. The party expressed hope that the newly elected representatives would work in coordination with the state government to accelerate development, strengthen public services, and address local issues more efficiently.
