Bhagwant Mann Government Continues Its War on Drugs
The latest crackdown reflects the Bhagwant Mann government’s continued focus on tackling drug-related crimes across Punjab. Since launching its anti-drug campaign, the administration has directed law enforcement agencies to intensify intelligence-based operations and strengthen action against drug smugglers.
Rehabilitation Efforts Go Hand in Hand
Along with strict action against drug traffickers, the government is also encouraging rehabilitation for individuals affected by substance abuse. During the latest operation, six individuals were counselled and persuaded to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment. Authorities believe that while strong policing is necessary to break drug supply chains, rehabilitation is equally important to help people recover from addiction and rebuild their lives.
Focus on Building a Drug-Free Punjab
The Bhagwant Mann government has repeatedly stated that its strategy combines strict enforcement with social support. While police continue targeting drug suppliers and traffickers, awareness campaigns and rehabilitation programmes are also being promoted to reduce drug dependence among residents.
