Bhagwant Mann continued its anti-drug campaign under the ongoing Yudh Nashian Virudh initiative, carrying out raids across multiple locations in the state as part of its efforts to dismantle drug trafficking networks and curb the spread of narcotics.
Bhagwant Mann Arrests 79 Drug Smugglers
According to official information, police teams arrested 79 alleged drug smugglers during the latest operation. The raids resulted in the recovery of 6.7 kilograms of heroin, 1.5 kilograms of ganja, 30 kilograms of poppy husk, and approximately 1.33 lakh intoxicant pills. Authorities also seized drug money amounting to ₹2.02 lakh, which is believed to be linked to illegal narcotics activities.
Seizes Heroin and Intoxicants in Statewide Crackdown
The operation was conducted at various locations across Punjab under the supervision of senior police officers. Officials stated that intelligence-based actions and coordinated enforcement efforts remain central to the state’s strategy against drug trafficking and organized narcotics networks.
In addition to enforcement measures, Punjab Police also emphasized rehabilitation and de-addiction efforts. During the campaign, 10 individuals were counselled and encouraged to undergo treatment and rehabilitation programmes aimed at helping them overcome substance dependence and reintegrate into society.
Police officials noted that the Yudh Nashian Virudh campaign combines strict action against drug suppliers with awareness and rehabilitation initiatives for affected individuals. The objective is not only to disrupt the illegal drug trade but also to address the social and public health challenges associated with substance abuse.
Punjab Police reaffirmed its commitment to continuing the statewide campaign and strengthening efforts to create a safer and drug-free environment for the people of Punjab.
