Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann congratulates Parinaaz Dhaliwal and Bhavtegh Singh Gill, who bagged bronze medals for India in the skeet team events at the Asian Games of 2026.
Dhaliwal formed the Indian women’s skeet team along with Raiza Dhillon and Maheshwari Chauhan and managed to earn the bronze medal by scoring a total of 331 points. Gill participated in the Indian men’s skeet team along with Anantjeet Singh Naruka and Mairaj Ahmad Khan and earned India a bronze medal with 346 points.
Punjab shooters make Punjab proud
Bhagwant Mann appreciated the feat of the two shooters from Punjab and wished them success in the future as well. The Chief Minister stated that their medal-winning performance at the Asian Games made Punjab proud. According to the Punjab Rifle Shooting Association, Dhaliwal and Gill are both athletes from Punjab participating in the Asian Games of Aichi-Nagoya.
A message of inspiration for young athletes
Mann also stressed that the successes of the shooters were very important for Punjab’s youth, who watched their excellent results at the international competition and saw them as a source of motivation for themselves, being the lakhs of future athletes of the state. Two bronze medals won by the Indian shooters in addition to the other successes in shooting at the Asian Games made both the men’s and women’s skeet teams enter the podium. The men’s team of Gill managed to win bronze in a shoot-out with the Kazakh team, while the women’s team of Dhaliwal took the third place after China and Kazakhstan. In this congratulatory message, Mann emphasized recognition of the result and motivation of the shooters to continue their athletic careers.
