Bhagwant Mann Government Boosts Animal Husbandry with Blue Cross Medical Stores in Punjab
According to the announcement, these Blue Cross medical stores will be set up in the districts of Gurdaspur, Patiala, Ludhiana, Sangrur, Amritsar, and Sri Muktsar Sahib. The stores will provide quality veterinary medicines at prices up to 30 per cent cheaper, offering significant financial relief to livestock owners and dairy farmers.
Officials said the initiative is designed to ensure easy availability of genuine and affordable medicines for animals, especially in rural areas where farmers often struggle with high treatment costs. By establishing these stores within veterinary polyclinics, the government aims to create a one-stop solution for diagnosis and medication.
Reiterating its commitment
The AAP government stated that promoting animal husbandry is a key part of its broader rural development strategy. Affordable animal healthcare not only improves livestock productivity but also enhances farmers’ income and strengthens the rural economy.
Reiterating its commitment, the Mann government said such welfare-oriented steps reflect its focus on the needs of farmers and cattle rearers. The initiative is expected to benefit thousands of livestock owners across Punjab and further reinforce the state’s reputation as a leader in dairy and animal husbandry.
