Relief Distribution in Sunam Constituency
In a significant step towards supporting farmers impacted by floods, AAP Punjab President and Cabinet Minister Aman Arora distributed compensation among flood-hit farmers in Sunam constituency.
A total of 82 farmers from 11 villages received official approval letters for compensation during the ceremony. The initiative aims to provide timely financial relief to help them recover from crop damage and economic setbacks caused by heavy rains and flooding.
Farmers Express Gratitude
The beneficiaries extended heartfelt thanks to the Bhagwant Mann government for standing by them in challenging times. Many farmers noted that such prompt and transparent compensation measures had restored their faith in the administration.
They lauded the government’s proactive approach, highlighting that unlike in the past, this time the aid reached them swiftly and without bureaucratic delays.
Government’s Vision for Agricultural Resilience
The Mann government emphasized that these relief efforts are not one-time measures but part of a broader strategy to strengthen Punjab’s agricultural resilience.
Officials stated that the state is focusing on improving water management systems, enhancing drainage networks, and supporting farmers through modern agricultural practices to reduce future losses due to floods and erratic weather patterns.
‘Kisaanan di Sarkar’: A Commitment to the Grassroots
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government reiterated its core vision of being a “Kisaanan di Sarkar” (Government of Farmers).
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has repeatedly asserted that Punjab’s progress is deeply tied to the welfare of its farmers. The administration continues to prioritize agricultural reforms, crop insurance schemes, and timely compensation to ensure the farming community remains secure and prosperous.
