The Punjab government has completed the tender for the purchase of 700 new buses in order to increase its public transportation fleet. According to Punjab Finance and Transport Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, the tender involved Tata Motors and Ashok Leyland and was won by Ashok Leyland.

The upcoming buses will be equipped with several advanced features designed to improve passenger safety and operational efficiency. Every bus will include:

Punjab’s Government Bus Fleet Gets Bigger
With the addition of the new buses, Punjab’s total government-operated bus fleet will increase to 3,546 buses. According to the government, this expansion represents a 56% increase in the state’s public transport fleet.
