Punjab bid adieu to martyr soldiers in Poonch with teary eyes

People on Saturday bid farewell to four of the five army personnel killed in the attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch, with tears in their eyes amidst slogans of ‘Shaheed amar rahe’ and ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’.

The mortal remains of Havaldar Mandeep Singh, resident of Chankoiyan village, Lance Naik Kulwant Singh, resident of Charik village, Constable Harkrishna Singh, resident of Talwandi and Constable Sevak Singh, resident of Bagaha village, were cremated with full military honours.

There was a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. Once again the terrorists attacked by targeting the army vehicle. Five army soldiers were martyred in this attack, while the condition of one soldier remains critical. Four of the five soldiers who were martyred are from Punjab.

Punjab has lost four of its sons. There is a wave of mourning in the state. On Friday, Chief Minister of the state Bhagwant Mann announced compensation to the families of the martyred soldiers. CM Mann has announced to give one crore rupees each to the families of the martyred soldiers of Punjab.

Four soldiers of Punjab sacrificed their lives to protect the country. Mandeep Singh was a resident of Chankoiyan Kakan village, Harkrishna Singh of Talwandi Barath village, Kulwant Singh of Charik and Sevak Singh of Wagah in Punjab. There is an atmosphere of mourning in Punjab. A mountain of sorrow has broken over the families of the martyred soldiers. No one thought that such news would come.
