Punjab Police: 2 Persons Arrested in Gurdaspur for Traitor Activities, Check what DGP Said

Punjab Police: Punjab police have arrested two men in Gurudaspur for apparently disclosing sensitive military information related to Operation Sindoor to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). The Punjab Police said they are fully committed to protect the country and if anyone is aiming to harm national security will face strict action.

Details of Arrest by Punjab Police

•    Through initial investigations it was found that the accused were in direct contact with ISI handlers and had sent critical information regarding the Indian armed forces, according to the DGP Punjab Police.
•    DIG Border Range Satinder Singh said the ISI made the accused active after the Pahalgam  attack and an amount of 1 lakh was transferred to their accounts. 
•    Both of them Sukhpreet Singh and Karanbir Singh are from Gurdaspur. An FIR was registered against them under the Official Secrets Act.

DGP Punjab Police told in his post on X :

•    In a significant counter-espionage operation, Gurdaspur Police stops an attempt to compromise national security by arresting two persons involved in leaking sensitive military information. 
•    On 15th May 2025, credible intelligence inputs indicated that Sukhpreet Singh & Karanbir Singh were engaged in sharing secret details related to OperationSindoor, including troop movements and key strategic locations in Punjab, HimachalPradesh, & Jammu And Kashmir - with Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI.
•    The police have arrested both suspects. Forensic examination of their mobile phones has confirmed the intelligence inputs. The police team has also recovered 3 mobile phones and 8 live cartridges (.30 bore) from their possession. 
•   FIR has been registered under the Official Secrets Act at PS Dorangala. The investigations  are continuing, and more disclosures will be there as probe deepens.
•    He told that Punjab Police stands strong with the Indian Army, remains active to safeguard national interests. Any attempt to undermine the security of our armed forces will be met with firm and immediate action.
