Punjab to make policy against exploitation of women abroad

The government will now formulate a special policy to deal with the cases of exploitation of women and girls of Punjab in foreign countries. In this, all the points related to the safety of women will be included.

Before formulating the policy, the government has decided to seek the opinion of the aggrieved women so that it can be ascertained that what kind of difficulties they have to face while going abroad. Along with this, a proper draft of the policy can be prepared. Women and Development Minister Dr Baljeet Kaur said that on June 11 there will be a meeting in the office of DC Jalandhar from 11 am to 1 pm. She herself will also be present in this. He has invited women to participate in this programme.

Women of Punjab who are willing to go abroad or are settled there. Apart from this, those who have come back from there. The Punjab government is very serious about protecting their rights. It has also come to the fore that various types of exploitation are being done by some agents to the women of the state by making false statements and false statements with the aim of sending them to foreign countries illegally. To overcome this situation, efforts are being made by the Punjab government to prepare a state level policy.

Exploitation of women from America to Arab countries

Incidents of exploitation of women are happening not only in Arab countries but also in America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand. Apart from this, reports of such unfortunate incidents are coming from Middle Eastern countries like Kuwait, Dubai, Oman. Many NRI boys spoil the life of girls in the name of marriage. Due to this, not only the girls but their families also face difficulties. Educated girls are forced to live a painful life throughout their life. The department has given an open invitation to women who have been duped by NRI persons, agents, relatives to join the discussion.

Earlier the government had constituted SIT

The state government had constituted the SIT to investigate incidents of illegal transportation of women to Central Asian countries by luring them with jobs and good salaries. The SIT constituted under the leadership of IPS officer Randhir Kumar will investigate all cases of human trafficking from the state. With the formation of the SIT, the Bureau of Investigation (BOI) has empowered Randhir Kumar to co-opt any officer attached to the concerned police station where the FIRs have been registered, to assist in the investigation.

Along with this, IG Ludhiana range Kaustubh Sharma has been appointed as the nodal officer, who will oversee the work of registering FIRs across Punjab without any hindrance in such cases.
