Marking Vijay Diwas 2025, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann extended his heartfelt salutations to the brave soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces who scripted history with their decisive victory over Pakistan in the 1971 war. He said the nation bows in respect to the unmatched courage, discipline and sacrifices of the jawans who protected India’s sovereignty and honour.

In his message, Bhagwant Mann stated that the victory of December 16, 1971, was not just a military achievement but a triumph of truth, humanity and justice. He said the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force displayed extraordinary coordination and valor, leading to one of the shortest and most impactful wars in modern history.

Bhagwant Mann further said that the sacrifices made by soldiers and their families can never be repaid. He stressed the importance of ensuring respect, dignity and welfare for veterans, martyrs’ families and serving personnel. He also called upon the youth to learn from the values of courage, unity and patriotism demonstrated by the armed forces.
