Jaipur News: Jaipur Metro is all set to witness a considerable enhancement in its capabilities with Line 2 of the city’s metro network slated to improve airport connectivity.
Presently, the city’s metro authorities are planning to offer direct underground access to commuters from the Airport Metro Station to all passenger terminals.
Passengers will get the choice to commute between the Metro station and the three terminals via shuttle services and dedicated tunnels. This development comes after a recent round of consultations between the Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation and Airport authorities.

A third terminal would be shortly included by the time Metro Line 2 comes into full-scale operations. The new terminal would be constructed alongside terminal 2 towards the Sanganer side.
According to an official, JMRC would construct terminals and go ahead with the installation of elevators and walkways. This would help smooth and uninterrupted movement of passengers, even those with heavy baggage.
On the lines of the airport line model of Delhi Metro, the airport station in Jaipur would be fully equipped with 2 designated exit and entry points. One of these points would cater to regular metro commuters from nearby localities. The other would link directly to the airport terminals.
Line 2 (linking Prahladpura in Sitapura to Todi Mod in Vidhyadhar Nagar) would be constructed in 7 project packages with a total length of 43 kilometers.
Tendering for the first package, which involves metro services between Prahladpura and Pinjrapole Gaushala, was launched in December.
