Rajasthan News: Honda To Set First Electric Vehicle Plant In Tapukara, Would This Revolutionise EV Production In Alwar?

Rajasthan News: It is expected that the Honda plant's production would increase the demand for electronic systems, battery-related equipment, motor parts, cabling and other critical components for EVs. Also, it would improve the businesses of several small, local and medium-sized enterprises in the state while also improving the scope for new investment in the sector.

Rajasthan News: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has announced that Honda would be manufacturing its first electric vehicle Honda Zero Alpha at its Tapukda plant in Alwar. The production is likely to start this year.

The Rajasthan CM unveiled the first EV model of Honda at a meeting of delegates from Honda Cars India Limited at the CMO.

Rajasthan News- Subsidies On EV Purchases In Offering

In September 2024, Honda’s top management was invited by the Rajasthan CM during his visit to Japan. The CM invited Honda to start the manufacturing and investment of electric vehicle models in the state of Rajasthan. It was announced by the CM hat a single-window system, subsidies on EV purchases and the setting up of charging stations would be implemented on a priority basis for promoting electric vehicles in the state.

The move is expected to boost the manufacturing, distribution, purchase and sale of electric vehicles in the state. Moreover, it would offer the much-required impetus to the auto parts and automobile industry in the Tapukara-Bhiwadi Industrial Area.

Local Businesses To Thrive

It is expected that the Honda plant’s production would increase the demand for electronic systems, battery-related equipment, motor parts, cabling and other critical components for EVs. Also, it would improve the businesses of several small, local and medium-sized enterprises in the state while also improving the scope for new investment in the sector.

Takashi Nakajima, Honda’s President and CEO, remarked that the plant in Tapukara would be the company’s primary production centre in the country. Nakajima also remarked that the production plan would produce auto parts and cars for international as well as domestic markets.

In a post on X, the Rajasthan CM remark that the developed is in line with the Make in India, for the World initiative of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
