Uttar Pradesh Sees Threefold Increase in Covid-19 Cases, Majority Recovering at Home

Covid-19: In the last ten days, the number of active Covid cases in Uttar Pradesh has climbed three times. Nonetheless, almost all of the patients are recovering in isolation at home with minimal symptoms. The number of ongoing Covid cases increased to 262 on Monday, but none of them, according to the authorities, were critical.

There is one Covid positive patient for every 10 lakh people in the state

A total of 78 new instances of Covid were reported in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, including 38 from Lakhimpur Kheri, where infected members of a government residential school’s personnel and kids were discovered. It was the biggest total for a single day this year. According to a state government spokeswoman, there is one Covid positive patient for every 10 lakh people in the state. There were 47 current Covid instances on December 30, 2022. By March 15 of this year, there were 71 active cases in the state; on Monday, there were 262 active cases. The Association of International Physicians’ secretary general, Dr. Abhishek Shukla, stated: “Covid protocol, including social distance, wearing of masks in public areas, and avoiding crowded places, can reduce Covid instances.

Muzaffarnagar reported one Covid-related fatality

Since the start of the pandemic, Uttar Pradesh has reported 21,28,582 Covid cases. Health officials in many districts, primarily Noida, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, Meerut, Bulandshahr, and Lakhimpur Kheri, where the highest number of active cases were detected, have been warned to step up contact tracing and testing. Recently, Muzaffarnagar reported one Covid-related fatality. State surveillance officer Vikasendu Agrawal said, “The patient was admitted for a different condition and passed away while receiving care. The good news has finally been received, thus it has been added to the list of Covid fatalities.”

All 75 districts should immediately choose hospitals with a focus on Covid

There have been 23,650 Covid deaths registered in the state as of this writing. Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister, reviewed the Covid situation with Team-9 in the meantime and gave the go-ahead for more testing. All 75 districts should immediately choose hospitals with a focus on Covid, according to him, and all the oxygen plants built the previous year should be put into operation.
