What Is Special About This Uttarakhand News?
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami flagged off the services from the camp office to mark the New Year.
The CM also dedicated 2 sleeper buses and 10 air-conditioned buses that are presently being operated on a contract basis.
The event also saw the release of a road safety calendar and a UTC publication that has been titled Anwarat. A group of UTC employees was also recognized by the CM for their exceptional services that were delivered under extreme conditions.
The Uttarakhand state government said the new buses will improve service quality and enhance capacity across different routes in the state.
In the state, reliable public transport remains a big challenge because of dispersed settlements, extreme weather conditions and heavy dependence on road connectivity for access to tourism, markets, healthcare and education.
The new buses would be equipped with CCTV cameras, e-ticketing facilities, fleet monitoring tools, GPS-based tracking systems and structured maintenance schedules.
