Speaking at the ‘Gurumat Sant Samagam’ event in Kashipur’s Gauraya Paper Mill, CM Dhami shared the visionary project, underscoring its potential to transform the journey to one of the most revered Sikh shrines.

Hemkund Sahib, nestled in the Himalayas and visited by lakhs of devotees every year, has been accessible only through a challenging trek. The new ropeway, as stated by CM Dhami, will cut down the current hours-long journey to a mere 45 minutes, facilitating easier and more comfortable access for pilgrims to the sacred site.
This development is expected not only to boost tourism but also to create a more inclusive experience for the elderly and differently-abled devotees
The project, which carries an estimated cost of Rs 850 crore, was laid down by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reflecting the government’s commitment to supporting religious tourism and providing better facilities to pilgrims.
