Average air quality index of Delhi was recorded at 341

The air quality index in the national capital on Sunday was recorded in the ‘very poor’ category, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 17.5 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season’s normal average. According to the data of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the average air quality index of Delhi was recorded at 341 at 1:10 pm.

The areas in the National Capital Region where the Air Quality Index was recorded in the ‘very poor’ category are – Alipore where the Air Quality Index stood at 357, Shadipur 321, NSIT Dwarka 348, DTU Delhi 306, ITO 335, 351 at Sirifort, 333 at Mandir Marg, R.K. It remained 365 in Puram and 333 in Aya Nagar.The Air Quality Index was recorded at 343 in North Campus of Delhi University, 324 at Mathura Road, 304 at Pusa, 332 at IGI Airport, 351 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, 362 at Nehru Nagar, 359 at Patparganj, 357 at Ashok Vihar, 372 in Sonia Vihar, 370 in Jahangirpuri, 361 in Rohini, Narela364 in and 373 in Bawana was recorded.

At the same time, the air quality index in Punjabi Bagh (272), Lodhi Road (278) and Dilshad Garden (284) remained in the ‘poor’ category.

It is known that AQI between zero and 50 is ‘good’, 51 to 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 ‘poor’, 301 to 400 ‘very poor’ and AQI between 401 to 500 is considered ‘severe’.
