CM Yogi Adityanath: ₹900 Crore First Installment to 90,000 Beneficiaries Under PMAY-Urban 2.0 in Uttar Pradesh

CM Yogi Adityanath: The Uttar Pradesh government is set to transfer the first installment of ₹900 crore to nearly 90,000 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0 through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The initiative aims to provide permanent housing to economically weaker families and strengthen the vision of “Housing for All.”

The event will take place on March 16, 2026 at 4:30 PM at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan. During the programme, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will distribute housing approval certificates to selected beneficiaries.

The programme is being organised under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as part of the government’s commitment to ensure housing for every poor household in the state. The initiative aims to provide secure and dignified living conditions for economically disadvantaged families.

Around 1,500 beneficiaries from Lucknow and Ayodhya divisions

Around 1,500 beneficiaries from Lucknow and Ayodhya divisions are expected to participate in the event. The Chief Minister will also interact with beneficiaries from districts including Fatehpur, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, Saharanpur, Maharajganj and Deoria through video conferencing.

Several senior leaders and public representatives are expected to attend the programme, including Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak along with ministers, MPs and MLAs.

According to the state government, around 2.135 million houses have been approved in Uttar Pradesh since 2014 under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). The government has released thousands of crores to beneficiaries under the scheme. In addition, through the housing schemes and land freed from mafia control, housing support has been extended to nearly 6.2 million poor families in the state.

The government says the initiative reflects its commitment to the vision of “Housing for All” and inclusive development in Uttar Pradesh.
