Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has highlighted the state’s infrastructure development since 2017, pointing to expansion in road connectivity, aviation services and metro rail networks. He said improved connectivity has created new opportunities for economic growth, employment, tourism and public convenience across the state.

In a post on X on October 29, the Chief Minister credited the development push to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP’s double-engine government. He said the state had focused on improving the speed, scale and reach of its transport infrastructure.

Uttar Pradesh Expands Expressway Network: CM Yogi Adityanath

Adityanath stated that before 2017, Uttar Pradesh had only around one and a half expressways, while 10 expressways are now operational. He presented the expansion as a significant change in the state’s road connectivity and transport infrastructure.

Better road connectivity can help reduce travel time between cities and improve access to markets. According to the Chief Minister, the expanded network is also helping farmers connect their produce with larger markets and creating new opportunities for businesses and entrepreneurs.

Aviation Connectivity Across the State

The Chief Minister also highlighted the expansion of aviation infrastructure, stating that Uttar Pradesh now has 12 domestic and five international airports. He contrasted this with the situation before 2017, when air services were limited to a smaller number of cities.

Improved air connectivity can support business travel, tourism and access to destinations for domestic and international visitors. Adityanath said the expansion was helping the state strengthen its connectivity with other regions and countries.

Metro Services in Seven Cities

Adityanath further stated that metro services are now operational in seven cities across Uttar Pradesh, whereas no city in the state had metro rail services before 2017. He described urban transport development as another important part of the state’s infrastructure transformation.
