Greater Noida: Massive fire breaks out at 17th floor of a residential apartment on Diwali; Numerous accidents reported nationwide

Greater Noida: An apartment in a residential society of Greater Noida West caught fire on Diwali night, according to officials. The apartment is situated in the Vedantam Society of the Gaur City 2 neighbourhood.

According to Chief Fire Officer Arun Kumar Singh, efforts are being made to totally put out the fire. We got information at around 10.05 pm about a fire at a flat on the 17th floor of Tower B2 of Vedantam society. The fire reached the 18th floor too. Fire tenders were brought and the fire was controlled in an hour,” he said.

Singh added that no casualties had been reported as of yet. The official further stated that the cause of the fire and the harm done had not yet been determined. Numerous fire incidents were recorded all around the country as the entire nation was celebrating the festival.

On Monday, a large fire in the nation’s capital started in a factory in the Raghubar Pura-2 neighbourhood of Gandhinagar, according to officials.

After being informed, up to 10 fire tenders were dispatched. Officials claim that four people who were trapped inside the factory have been freed. The Delhi Fire Service reported that a restaurant fire occurred in the Prashant Vihar neighbourhood earlier on Monday evening. According to the Delhi Fire Service, there are seven fire trucks on the site.
