A tragic incident occurred at Maha Kumbh 2025 when Narayan Tiwari, an elderly devotee from Maharashtra, lost his wife while they were stuck in a massive traffic jam. According to reports, his 60-year-old wife suddenly started feeling unwell near the Sangam area. However, due to gridlocked roads, they couldn’t reach the hospital in time, leading to her unfortunate demise.

Narayan Tiwari, heartbroken by the tragedy, reminisced about their once joyful life. "Hum dono ka jeevan bahut khushal tha ki humko kissi cheez ki kami nahi thi, par ab hum tut chuke hain" (We had a very happy life, but now everything is over), he said while breaking down in tears.

Samajwadi Party (SP) Chief Akhilesh Yadav has strongly criticised the Uttar Pradesh government after the heartbreaking video of the old man surfaced.
