The sacred festival of Maha Shivaratri is set to be celebrated on February 26, drawing millions of devotees to Prayagraj. Security Tightened for Maha Shivaratri in Maha Kumbh Mela Area

Authorities are on high alert, with multiple forces deployed across the Maha Kumbh 2025 site. NDRF DIG M.K. Sharma highlighted the enhanced security arrangements, stating that additional boats and security personnel have been stationed in Prayagraj. Divers are continuously monitoring the ghats, while the UP Police, SDRF and PAC battalions are working in close coordination. Police teams are patrolling the area, ensuring the safety of every devotee arriving for the holy dip at Triveni Sangam on Maha Shivaratri.

Traffic Arrangements for Maha Shivaratri in Maha Kumbh

With devotees arriving in large numbers, the Yogi government has taken extensive steps to manage traffic efficiently. Prayagraj Police Commissionerate, along with Traffic Officer Shubham Todi, has provided updates regarding vehicle movement in the city.

Vehicles entering Prayagraj for Maha Shivaratri are being guided through the Andawa Underpass entry point. Devotees' vehicles are parked at Kanha Motorpark, from where pilgrims are being directed toward Triveni Sangam Ghat. Officials have assured that traffic is flowing smoothly at key junctions like Kalash Chauraha.

On February 26, thousands of pilgrims will gather at the Maha Kumbh Mela site for the sacred bath in the holy river. So far, no major traffic disruptions have been reported, allowing devotees to participate in rituals without inconvenience.
