Mathura News: Drunk UP Police Cop Breaks Into Female Sub-Inspector’s Room at Midnight, Forcibly Tries to..., Arrested

Mathura News: A shocking case has emerged from Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, where a UP police sub-inspector has been arrested for allegedly attempting to rape a female cop. The accused, Sub-Inspector Mohit Rana, was taken into custody following a complaint from the female officer. The incident took place at Magorra police station in Sonkh late on Wednesday night.

Drunk Sub-Inspector Harasses Female Cop in Police Station

According to reports, UP Police Sub-Inspector Mohit Rana entered the female officer’s room while intoxicated. He allegedly misbehaved with her and, when she resisted, attempted to force himself on her. The female sub-inspector managed to escape and immediately reported the incident to senior officers.

A journalist named Sachin Gupta shared the incident on X, posting an image of the accused and detailing what happened.

In his post, he wrote, “This is UP Police Sub-Inspector Mohit Rana, posted in Mathura. The trainee lady sub-inspector was resting in her room at the police station when Mohit Rana arrived drunk at midnight. He started molesting her. When she screamed, he pushed her and fled.”

Police Investigation and Arrest of Mohit Rana

Following the female cop’s complaint, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) ordered an inquiry led by the Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) and Circle Officer (CO). The investigation confirmed the allegations, leading to a case being registered against Sub-Inspector Mohit Rana. He was promptly arrested.

CCTV footage from the police station played a crucial role in the case. The footage reportedly showed Mohit Rana entering and leaving the female officer’s room. When confronted with the evidence, he attempted to flee but was caught by the police.

Failed Escape Attempt by Accused Sub-Inspector

Reports suggest that before the incident, Mohit Rana had shown the female officer certain videos on his phone, which angered her. She immediately escalated the matter to the SSP. When officials summoned Mohit Rana for questioning on Thursday, he tried to escape. He ran out of the police station, jumped over a boundary wall, and attempted to hide inside a cooperative society. However, the police chased him down and arrested him.
