UP Toll Tax Hike - Revised Rates in Lucknow from March 31 Midnight

In Lucknow, the revised toll tax rate will come into effect from midnight on March 31. Unlike previous years, the UP toll tax was not increased in April 2024 due to the Lok Sabha elections. However, once the election results were announced, the updated charges were implemented in June 2024.

This time, the hike will follow the usual schedule, meaning highway users will have to pay the new toll tax rate as per the revised charges set by NHAI.

Toll Tax Rate Revision on Key National Highways in Lucknow

The NHAI updates toll tax rates in Lucknow annually in October for several key routes. The toll fee is collected at multiple locations, including:

  • Sitapur Road
  • Nawabganj (Kanpur Highway)
  • Ahmadpur, Raunahi, Bara (Ayodhya Highway)
  • Dakhina Sheikhpur (Rae Bareli route)

With the new toll tax rate, traveling on these important highways will become costlier. The increase is part of NHAI's routine adjustments, aimed at maintaining national highway infrastructure.

According to NHAI Project Director Saurabh Chaurasia, toll rates are adjusted every year to account for inflation and the rising costs of maintaining national highways, as reported by ABP Live. This year’s hike is no exception, with an expected increase ranging between ₹5 to ₹10. The UP toll tax revision is part of a routine update aimed at ensuring smooth operations and improved infrastructure on national highways.
