CM Yogi Adityanath: In a major push for traditional artisans and craftsmen, the Uttar Pradesh government will inaugurate the ‘Vishwakarma Swarojgar and Swadeshi Mela-2026’ exhibition in Lucknow today.
The event is being organized on the occasion of Lord Vishwakarma Jayanti under the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana 2.0. The initiative aims to empower local artisans, promote self-employment and give a new identity to traditional skills under the ‘Vocal for Local’ mission.
According to the official announcement by the Government of UP, the program will be held under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The state government said its objective is to bring prosperity to the lives of artisans by encouraging local talent and strengthening the spirit of self-reliance. For this, traditional businesses are being linked with modern technology, financial assistance and market access.

During the program, the government will launch the Margin Money Loan Portal and distribute cheques and toolkits to beneficiaries of various schemes. These steps are expected to provide artisans with financial support and opportunities to grow their businesses.
Officials stated that promoting local products and indigenous enterprises will give new momentum to the vision of Atmanirbhar Uttar Pradesh.
