UP Municipal Body Poll Results: SP Defeats BJP In Atiq Ahmed’s Ward In Prayagraj By 2,000 Votes

UP Municipal Body Poll Results: In a significant milestone, the Samajwadi Party wins in Prayagraj’s urban local body elections from the mafia Atiq Ahmed’s ward, days after the murders of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf in police custody left the city in utter anarchy. In ward 44, the Samajwadi Party’s Jahanara defeated the BJP’s Sarita Hela by almost 2000 votes.

Notably, this district includes Atiq Ahmed’s residence as well as his in-laws.

It is important to remember that Yogi Aditgyanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, was urged to “strengthen hands” by Umesh Pal’s wife after her husband was killed in the city by Atiq Ahmed’s gang.

Jaya Pal created a poster to thank the authorities for killing Raju Pal, a BSP legislRator, and her husband. Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, and Sidharth Nath Singh, a BJP MLA, were both represented on the billboard, according to PTI. Raju Pal, Jaya Pal, and Umesh Pal are also depicted in the pictures.

“At a public meeting of Adityanath, some people arrived with a poster that read in Hindi: “Umesh Pal, Raju Pal ke hatyaro ko mitti mein milane ke liye dhanyavad (thanks for decimating the killers of Umesh Pal and Raju Pal). Bulldozer Baba zindabad, Sidharth Nath Singh zindabad”, Sidharth Nath Singh, the MLA from Allahabad West, said, as quoted by PTI.

A leaflet with Jaya Pal’s name and image on it that asks readers to support the BJP has also gained widespread distribution on social media.

“Whatever Yogiji had said, he has delivered. He has decimated the mafia,” the pamphlet read. It further read, “Bless and support CM Yogi Adityanath and BJP and strengthen their hands”
