CM Yogi Adityanath: Uttar Pradesh is rapidly transforming into an industrial powerhouse, rewriting India’s industrial narrative under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. As per the latest data shared by Awanish Awasthi, the state has witnessed an unprecedented surge in industrial development since 2017.
The number of registered factories in UP has more than doubled in just a few years. In the last two years alone (2023-2025), over 6,700 new factories have been established, signaling strong industrial momentum. This rapid growth is setting Uttar Pradesh on track to become one of the top three industrial states in India soon.
Year-on-Year Growth of Registered Factories in UP:
- Up to March 2016: 13,809 factories
- 2016-17: 360 new factories
- 2017-18: 833 new factories
- 2018-19: 1,049 new factories
- 2019-20: 1,028 new factories
- 2020-21: 838 new factories
- 2021-22: 1,028 new factories (Cumulative total: 14,190) – 103% growth from 2016
- 2022-23: 1,492 new factories
- 2023-24: 3,085 new factories
- 2024-25: 3,644 new factories
- 2025-26 (up to July 14, 2025): 833 new factories
This brings the total number of registered factories in UP to 27,999, according to the Factory Dashboard of the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
