Uttar Pradesh: The SUV turned turtle after hitting an electric pole at Handia tax plaza road within the boundaries of Handia police station in the cross Ganga area of Prayagraj district on Thursday morning, leaving at least six people—four women and two minors—dead and four others hurt.
Five people, according to local police, died there while another passed away due to injuries while receiving treatment.
Around 6.30 am, as the SUV was travelling from Shivgarh to Vindhayanchal, the event occurred (Soraon).
Police arrived on the scene as soon as they were notified and took the injured patients to SRN hospital for care.
The tragedy happened at 5:45 am, the victims were travelling to Vindhyachal for a child’s “mundan” ceremony, according to Circle Officer of Handia Sudhir Kumar.

Casualties recorded:
Five persons were found dead on the scene, while five more were taken to a hospital injured, he claimed.
Rekha Devi (45), Krishna Devi (70), Savita (36), Rekha (32) and Ojas have been named as the deceased (one-and-a-half-years old).
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath sent his sympathies to the families of the deceased and expressed his sorrow over the accident.

Additionally, he gave orders to the district magistrate and other top district authorities to hurry over to the scene and see to the injured people’s well-being.
