Uttar Pradesh: Yogi Adityanath stated in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council that an SP leader had claimed that the chief minister and deputy chief minister had dropped a case against themselves. In the previous six years, neither the chief minister nor the deputy chief minister withdrew any such case.
CM Adityanath refutes SP’s claims
The Samajwadi Party has frequently accused Yogi Adityanath, the chief executive, and Keshav Prasad Maurya, his deputy, of dismissing cases brought against them. “But it is accurate that SP president Akhilesh Yadav withdrew cases against himself in 2016 using his signature,” Adityanath said. “Since the case filed by the Election Commission cannot be withdrawn, we are curious how this case was dismissed. Without the Commission’s approval, this would not have been possible, but he withdrew the case and now preaches to others,” he added.
UP CM calls out SP’s actions
In addition to being supported by the government, anti-national terrorist cases were dropped in Lucknow, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Bijnor, Kanpur, and Rampur. The Samajwadi Party administration also lacked the decency to drop the charges against terrorists and criminals, the speaker claimed. “Even the High Court had to comment that today you are withdrawing the cases of terrorists, tomorrow you will give Padma awards to them,” the chief minister said.
