Apple iOS 17.2 Beta 2 takes the first step to retire THIS service from the company, Details

Apple: The much-anticipated Journal app for iPhones and the spatial video recording capability were just added by Apple in the public beta 2 of iOS 17.2. Alongside these upgrades, there’s a less talked-about tweak that represents Apple’s first move towards closing the specific iTunes Movie Store. Reportedly, the strategy calls for combining it with the TV app and progressively removing it from iPhones. In this article, we will tell you all you need to know about this move.

Apple to Retire iTunes Movie Store

iPhone users may soon receive the notification “iTunes Movies moved to the Apple TV app,” according to 9to5Mac, which noticed code strings in the most recent update. It is thought that Apple will need to make more UI adjustments to the TV app before this change becomes visible. It is not yet live. Still, steps have been taken in that direction.

Users of the TV app will notice that a new sidebar has been added, enabling easy navigation, after the iPhone beta update. There are options for Search, Watch Now, Channels, Store, and Library in this sidebar. It’s anticipated that more choices will be added to render the iTunes Movie Store unavailable. As of right now, customers can purchase films and television series through the TV app.

The report states that when the new feature flags are enabled, the iTunes Store’s Movies and TV Shows tabs would vanish. But, since the update isn’t anticipated to happen until after iOS 17.2 is released globally, you might still have some time with it.

iOS 17.2 update details

Apple debuted a noteworthy feature in the most recent iOS 17.2 beta 2 that allows spatial video recording only on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. These 1080p, 30 frames per second, landscape-oriented videos were recorded with the intention of being compatible with Apple’s forthcoming Vision Pro, which is the company’s first spatial computer.
