Apple iPhone 15 Series battery cycle lifespan extended, Details inside

Apple iPhone 15 Series: Regarding the iPhone 15 series handsets’ batteries, Apple has revealed some new information. In light of their most recent testing findings, the company is going to be revising the battery life cycle ratings for the iPhone 15 series. The battery life of smartphones of the iPhone 15 series is expected to be twice as long as that of earlier models.

Apple iPhone 15 Series battery cycle lifespan extended

The iPhone 15 series, which was introduced this past September, includes new battery cycle lifespan statistics that the firm has included in its battery and performance support manual (via MacRumors). According to the paper, “Batteries of iPhone 15 models are designed to retain 80 per cent of their original capacity at 1000 complete charge cycles under ideal conditions.”

Since batteries naturally deteriorate over time, the news of their longer lifespan is definitely encouraging. This is particularly significant because, after less than a year of use, some iPhone 14 owners have started to experience unexpected drops in battery life.

Both iOS and its website are currently pushing the 1,000 cycle figure, which Apple claims is attainable in “ideal conditions.” This is not their prior advertising, where they claimed to have 500 cycles under “normal conditions.” Even when referring to older iPhone models, the phrase “normal conditions” has been substituted with “ideal.”

iOS 17.4 new feature

By offering a more informative UI, the most recent iOS 17.4 update improves battery health monitoring even further. The Settings app’s Battery section (Battery > Battery Health on an iPhone 15 or later) provides users with convenient access to charging optimisation settings and battery health data.

However, information on the battery cycle is not displayed on previous iPhone models.

How to check your iPhone’s battery health

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Scroll down and select Battery
  3. Tap Battery Health

Your battery’s peak performance, health percentage, and whether it requires servicing will all be included in the report.
